The Shade Tree Commission's mission embraces tree conservation, and is more than just tree conservation. The Rumson Shade Tree Commission promotes "Right Tree, Right Place" as a means to develop a thriving tree resource in the borough. This simply means that trees need space to grow both above and below ground. Choose a tree where the ultimate height and spread will not conflict with pedestrians, vehicles, utility lines nor buildings.
